Toyo tires have been reported to last an average of 45,000 miles (72,000 Km) with normal highway and street use. On average, car owners commute 13,500 miles each year, so Toyo tires should last 3.3 years on average. Additionally, Toyo tires have been reported to last as long as 90,000 miles and as little as 15,000 miles.

How Many Miles To Toyo Tires Last?

As briefly stated above, cars or trucks fitted with Toyo tires can receive an average of 45,000 miles.

However, when diving into this deeper, I discovered that customers typically get ranges of 15,000 miles to 60,000 miles.

In most cases though, the mileage of Toyo tires does seem to be in the mid-range of 45,000 miles.

When broken down into years, this lifespan is around 1.5 – 5 years, with 3.3 years being the average (based on the average of 13,500 miles driven each year).

As for the reason as to why the mileage varies so much for Toyo tires (or any tire for that matter) all comes down to individual use.

For example, highway driving tends to be less demanding on tires as there are no sharp turns, gutters to hit, and potholes.

Compared to city driving on narrow streets, tires can get a real thrashing with constant stop-start traffic, slamming on brakes, and potholes.

Do Toyo Tires Wear Out Fast?

Do Toyo Tires Wear Out Fast?

In most cases, Toyo tires do not wear out fast unless the tires are prone to excessive daily use on rugged or off-road terrain which can quickly wear down the tread.

As stated above, this also can vary a lot depending on the type of driving, the weather conditions, road conditions, and also the car itself.

In fact, when comparing Toyo’s range of tires (including the MT and RT) to the average lifespan of 40,000 – 50,000 miles, Toyo stacks up pretty well!

How Often Should Toyo Tires Be Replaced?

Toyo tires should be replaced whenever you start to notice excessive wear or your mechanic says otherwise.

Some telltale signs of wear and tear for Toyo tires (or any tire brand) is when the tread bar is flush with the tire tread.

If this is the case, this means your tires are quickly losing their tread which provides the grip and traction the tires needs.

How Do You Find The Expiration Date On a Toyo Tire?

From my research, I was unable to find a way to correctly find the expiration date of a Toyo tire.

However, you can find the manufacturer date on Toyo tires, which can still give you a clear indication of whether or not they have expired.

To do this, you can view the lettering and numbers on the wall of the tire. From here, you will need to look out for the last 4 digits which will tell you the week and year in which the tires were manufactured.

For example, a code of “1309” will indicate the tires were made on the 13th week of the year 2009.

Now we know this information, we can then determine the potential expiry date of the tires.

In most cases, Toyo tires will start to lose their suppleness and start to dry out after 5 years, even if hardly driven on.

Additionally, it is recommended that tires that are close to 10 years of age or above should be changed immediately, regardless if they have been hardly used.
